The Permanent Secretary, Edo State Sports Commission, Mrs Sabina Chikere, has assured the people of Edo State and the fans worldwide that Bendel Insurance will not disappoint again when they play in the top flight division next season as they inch closer to gaining promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL.
Mrs Chikere, appreciated the Sports Loving governor and his deputy for providing the enabling environment to thrive in the Nigeria National League.
She went further to appeal to the fans and supporters to continue being the 12th man as they secure promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League She said: “We depended on God and know he will do it at his own time and He has appointed that Bendel Insurance will go to Premier League and He answered our prayers
“I’m so happy and I equally want to thank the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Philip Shiabu for all his sacrifices and patience. He has really done well for us, patiently waiting for us to crawl and we have succeeded and we are a step away to joining NPFL.
“We thank the governor for giving us the platform to ride on. We will definitely remain there. The message is to let them continue to wait for us and we would not disappoint them. We have started the race, end the race and we will be there for them. Let them just still be there for us and assist us in whatever we are doing.”
The Benin Arsenal gained promotion to NPFL in 2018/2019 Football Season with Coach Monday Odigie after eleven years in the NNL but could not sustain their stay and were relegated immediately.
