The NPFL match day 20 rescheduled game took place at Muhammad Dikko staduim katsina home team katsina united took on Abia warriors with the home side getting three maximum points with a 2-1 victory.
The visiting Abia warriors took the lead through veteran Obaje Godwin in the 10th minutes putting the home team under intense pressure which made coach Usman Abdallah to make quick tactical changes bringing in Mustapha Salisu and Ahmed Taofeek for Dauda Madaki, Destiny Ashadi to add more bite to the attack of katsina united and it paid off in the 42nd minutes when Mustapha Salisu got the equalizer ending the first half with one goal apiece for both teams.
Katsina united seems better in the second half taking possession and creating more chances with Mustapha Salisu nicking in the second goal for katsina united in the 58 minutes from a direct freekick to seal up the win for the home side.
Coach Usman Abdallah speaking after the match, ” We conceded an early goal which put us under pressure but I also decided to make quick tactical move by adding more force to the attack and it paid off so we got what is most important the three points and we will keep working with the team to make sure we get out of the relegation zone and we must be patience with the team despite time is not on our side we are working hard to get it right with the team as we prepare for our next game we will use the available time to correct our mistakes also plan ahead again.”
Katsina united will host the reigning NPFL champions Akwa united this weekend at the Muhammad Dikko staduim katsina.
