*WHAT HAPPENED*
Isa Salisu was the star performer as Malumfashi FC bounce back to winning ways after a frantic – yet deeply satisfying – 2-1 win over Green Beret FC at the Abubakar Labo Controller Stadium on Sunday.
Backed by the sound from the drums and trumpets of the ever vibrant Malumfashi football club supporters club, the Masari Boys early onslaught paid off when GK Alhassan Tofa brought down Abba Dali in box.
Abdullahi Yau get the games opener from the spot after 45 minutes. grabbed his 2nd goal of the ongoing season.
7 minutes later Abba Dali get the second but Kingsley Udoh reduced the deficit on 75 minutes.
In the latter stages, the game boiled up into a great league tie. Both sides battered each other with attacks. Malumfashi FC’s incisiveness was crucial but so was the handling of Emmanuel Oche. Green Beret FC showed why they are one of the top 10 teams in the NNL but Coach Rabi’u Tata’s side matched them for urgency and took their chances.

The Rabi’u Tata’s tutored side will remain on top of the NNL log (Group A2) after matchday 6 not minding the results from a game to be played on Monday.

An away game to Jigawa Golden Stars in Kazaure on Saturday 19th March is next for Malumfashi FC but, just as importantly, the Masari Boys ended the month of February with a stirring and hugely welcome victory.
