he working synergy between Plateau United Technical Adviser Fidelis Ilechukwu and Chief Coach Hamza Abara has shown that when two brightest mind team up to work together the result will be positive and that is what have been happening since the two of them joined the 2017 champions during the off-season.
Both coaches took many fans of the Tin City based and the followers of the Nigeria Professional Football League by surprise even before the kick off of the 2021/2022 NPFL season with both trainers winning two preseason in Abuja and Jos.
Plateau United quickly proceeded to their demands by signing and renewing some of the talented players in the club, with the likes of Jesse Akila, Daniel “Delap” Itodo and Charles Henlong including Suraju Aiyeleso from 2019 Aiteo Cup winners Kano Pillars has shown that both Fidelis “The Working One” Ilechukwu and Hamza “The Young Coach” Abara are deeply rooted coaches from the grassroots.
With his effectiveness since the beginning of season, Ilechukwu has an in-depth knowledge of the round leather game which makes him posses special characteristics that have been helping him,the team and the rest of the backroom staffs to get the much needed result.
Ilechuchwu began his coaching with MFM FC of Lagos where he spend almost 13 years as the team coach. In 2015, the Imo state born tactician guided the team to the Nigeria Professional Football League from the second division with the likes of Sikiru Olatunbosun and other young players who took the NPFL storm.
At the end of 2018/2019, the working oneemotionallyy left the “Olukoya Boys to penned a year deal Heartland where he continue his good work and understanding of the round leather game, making the Naze Millionaire escape relegation.
In 2021, Plateau United announced his arrival as the club’s new technical adviser after the departure of Abdul Fagge Maikaba with Hamza Abara as the team’s new Chief Coach.
It left many followers of the league shocked, the question was ” Can these two trainers do it?”
But the results have been coming with the team’s 4 wins in a row and 1 draw away against Gombe United in the space of two weeks.
There is no doubt that the NPFL title will return to Jos this term.
