Niger Tornadoes are expected to return to their earlier adopted home ground of Kwara State Stadium Complex after completing their 3 home matches banishment to Abuja on matchday 11.
The Ikon Allah Boys were consequently banished to Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja by the League management company (LMC) after assaulting Referees in their matchday 5 encounters against Rivers United at Kwara State Stadium Complex.
In a summary judgment by the LMC, the club was fined a total amount of N5.5 Million naira, banished to Abuja for their three home matches, expelled two of their Coaches (Faruk Hussein and Mohammed Bello) for their involvement in the incident and placed them on a suspended two points deduction.
Tornadoes on Sunday completed their banishment terms with a 2-1 victory over Katsina United but reports have ermerged that the club might be considering another Staduim to adopt apart from Ilorin to continue the league.
The Coach Bala Abubakar led side played three home and two away matches under the period in review. The team lost one of their home games to Akwa United and recorded separate defeats to Kano Pillars and Gombe United away from home.
“The management hasn’t decided yet, but I can guarantee it will be hard to go back to Ilorin because even the home fans here are kicking against it because of proximity compared with Abuja or Kaduna”. Said Alhassan Kutigi, the Club Media Director in an exclusive chat with www.owosports.com.ng.
Tornadoes, who are now 16th on the log with 12 points will face Enyimba in their next game away from home.
