The African Football Confederation (CAF) has entered into an exclusive multi-year partnership agreement with Umbro South Africa.
This global partnership will see the emblematic sports brand become the exclusive technical sponsor of the tournaments and events organized by CAF. The partnership will begin this month of January 2022 with the equipment by Umbro of all the referees, volunteers and staff of the Africa Cup of Nations TotalEnergies Cameroon 2021; in addition to providing the official tournament ball.
“Toghu”, the ball of the next CAN presents brightly colored panels inspired by the finely embroidered patterns of the traditional outfits of the host country, Cameroon. Fans will be able to purchase the official replica of the ball as part of a limited edition collection created for the tournament, which will be available online through Umbro South Africa, CAFOnline and Geronimo Africa.

In addition to the technical arrangements for equipment, the partnership will be guided by a strong emphasis on increasing the visibility and commercial aspects of African football. To this end, CAF and Umbro, among other planned initiatives, will present a football news aggregation application, powered by Geronimo, for teams and their fans across Africa.
