Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released a list of 64 Referees to officiate the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals slated for January next year in Cameroun with only one assistant referee from Nigeria ,Felele247.com reports
The list of referees released was dominated by Moroccan with 8 officials from the North Africa side.
In the case of Nigeria whose domestic league is rated among top domestic leagues on the continent of Africa only produced one match official, which has close to 100 FIFA badge referees.
It shows that the current executive board of the Nigeria Football Federation under the leadership of Amaju Pinnick is harbouring the referee appointment committee chairman and executive member Sharif Inuwa.

List of Selected Referees
Three Cameroonian referees were retained for the 2021 Afcon on home soil.
Ngwa Blaise, Elvis Noupoue and Atezambong Carine. Amongst the Cameroonians Ngwa Blaise will be the only central referee, while Carine and Elvis will shuttle along the lines.
Rwandan International female Referee, Mukansanga Salima Rhadia is among the 64 selected to officiate in the 2021 AFCON.
Also On the List are the duo Kenyan Centre Referee (VAR), Peter Waweru Kamaku and Assistant Referee Gilbert Cheruyot both FIFA accredited.
Botswana referee, Joshua Bondo and Janny Sikazwe of Zambia were also included in the referees who will officiate at the 2021 African Cup of Nations.
The Tournament is scheduled to take place in Cameroon between January and February 2022.
