The Plateau State House of Assembly paid a working visit to Mighty Jets International Football Club of Jos on Monday, 18 October 2021 to evaluate the club’s situation ahead of the 2021/2022 Nigeria National League and the National F.A Cup.
The Lawmakers who were all members of the House Committee on Sports were led by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Dalyop Fom Gwotson.
Members of the committee were all received at the club’s Office by the entire management of the club, led by the club’s chairman Chief Alexander Wukari.
The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Gwotson appreciated the situation of the club and tried to find out the problems the club was passing through.
After a deliberation between the Sports Committee and the Management of the club, the committee promised to do their bits to ensure a better financial support for the club from the Plateau State Government.
The Committee Chairman particularly bemoaned what he described as very poor salary package for members of the Feeders team which he discovered after his private findings and promised to work with the team to improve the remuneration of the Feeders team Players and also work with the Executive arm of government to assist in the provision of essential logistics that will enhance the smooth-running of the club ahead of next season.
In his response, the Chairman of Mighty Jets, Chief Wukari thanked the House of Assembly for their visit and said with the visit he has been reassured that Mighty Jets is also an important project for the people and government of Plateau State.
He also used the opportunity to thank the government led by Governor Simon Bako Lalong for the financial support rendered the club regardless of the slim resources available at the governor’s disposal.
It was a very brief visit which lasted barely 30 minutes as the committee had to quickly leave to attend to other functions.
