.2017 NPFL champions Plateau United unveiled former MFM FC and Heartland manager Fidelis Ilechukwu as the club new manager, with former Sokoto United manager and Niger Tornadoes technical adviser Hamza Abdulazeez Abara as new chief coach.
Both coaches are former mates are Nigeria’s National Institute of Sports in Lagos where they started their football coaches course back in the early two thousand.
Fidelis Ilechukwu is regarded as one of the young coaches in Nigeria.
He spent 13 years with MFM FC before he decided to move out and try a new terrain, where he hold the club recorded history as the first coach to guide the Olukoya Boys to first continental outings in 2017.
At the beginning of 2018/2019, Ilechukwu was appointed as Heartland FC of Owerri, where he guided the team to escape relegation to the second division of the Nigerian football league.
Hamza Abdullazeez Abara
Hamza started his football coaching in Minna, Niger State with a non-league side after finishing his compulsory Industrial Training at the state team Niger Tornadoes FC.
He was appointed as Sokoto United technical adviser in 2010 before moving back to Niger Tornadoes as head coach during the club Nigeria National League days.
In 2014/2015 Nigeria National League was part of the coaching department that guided the Ikon Allah boys to the Nigeria elite league for the first time in five years.
He then work with coach Abdullahi Biffo in Abia Warriors and Katsina United as his Team Performance Analysis before Niger Tornadoes as a chief coach during the off-season of 2017/2018 of the Nigeria Domestic League.
He holds the records of nine matches unbeaten strick in the club’s history 2017/ 2018 Nigeria Professional Football League season, where he caught the attention of the Nigerian giants and eight times Champions Enyimba FC.
He was appointed as the club the assistant technical adviser to coach Fatai Osho in 2019.
Both coaches are expected to bring their wealth of experience to the Jos based club ahead of the new season.
